About Hoover House

Transitional Living for Women

A Stand Out Home

What makes Hoover House a stand out home for women seeking sobriety is they get to choose who they live with. Hoover House is run democratically; incoming residents are interviewed by all of the women living in the home. The women then vote as to whether this person is appropriate and has a sincere desire to live a drug free lifestyle. This selective process assures that we are living with functional people who are able to manage their own lives with some assistance from their recovering community. Hoover House limits the number of women permitted to live in the house at one time. This is to assure that everyone has a comfortable living space and plenty of personal space. There are 6 bedrooms, two kitchens and three baths. Three of the bedrooms are private. Two of the bedrooms are shared housing with two people in each room. There are televisions in each room with 220 channels. There is WiFi in the house and access to a computer. The house provides laundry facilities, laundry detergent, toilet paper and cleaning supplies. Each resident has a key to the house and to their room. Hoover House has pet therapy. We are a clean and comfortable home with a large front porch and a fenced in backyard. We have bus service in the front of the house. We have private parking.

Mission

The mission of Hoover House is to foster independence. To provide safe and sober housing for each resident. To respect the dignity of each resident. To offer support and responsible love and concern for all women struggling with addiction.
